What is the Hansen House?
The
Hansen House is a residential treatment halfway house for adult males and females
located at 411 Aloe Street in Galloway Township, New Jersey.
The Hansen House is owned by the Hansen Foundation, a private charitable
501(C)3 non-profit corporation, and leased and operated by Hendricks House,
Inc., a 501(C)3 non-profit corporation that provides drug and alcohol
treatment to male and female adults and their families.
The Hansen House treats the disease of alcoholism and drug addiction,
providing clients with the tools and skills needed to live productive
and responsible lives. Each treatment facility houses twenty-four beds,
a large kitchen, dining room, living room, six bathrooms, three administrative
offices, and three group rooms for individual and group counseling.
A full basement includes a workout room, storage room, laundry room,
and a large meeting room for 12-step meetings.

We need your help
Studies conducted by the New Jersey Division of Addiction Services state
that there is a continuing need for drug treatment in New Jersey. Statistics
show:
- TOTAL DEMAND FOR TREATMENT - 140,000
- TOTAL SERVED - 65,000
- TOTAL UNMET DEMAND - 74,000
- ILLICIT DRUG USERS IN NEW JERSEY - 478,000
(7.2% OF NEW JERSEY’S POPULATION)
Atlantic County statistics in 2003:
- 2,166 KNOWN PEOPLE WERE HOMELESS **
- 1,617 SINGLE MEN
- 341 WOMEN
- 65 MOTHERS
- 143 CHILDREN
- 75% KNOWN SUBSTANCE ABUSERS
** Living under the boardwalk or at the Atlantic City
Rescue Mission, the only shelter in the five-county area. This does not
include innumerable unrecorded substance abusers.
